Corporate

Every year the Mosman Rowing Club hosts at least one corporate program, of which the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s (CBA) program is the largest. In these programs one eight from each department, division or firm comes down and rows in a mixed eight.

Generally there are around 18 crews that are provided with boats and coaching, and are trained for 6 weeks.

At the end of the 6 week period MRC hosts a corporate regatta. The regatta is held down at Roseville park, and consists of:

  • match racing (head to head), fully marked out with bouys;
  • a large picnic
  • the crowd atmosphere
  • live jazz bands etc…

In the case of the CBA program the winners take home trophys, with the Les Taylor trophy going to the overall regatta winner. Tony Blay is the clubs chief organiser of these programs.
