NEW BOAT USAGE PROCEDURES EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 2009

So that we know who is out in Club boats, whether they have returned, any necessary repairs to boats, and there general usage, anyone using a Club owned boat, including a tinnie, will need to sign the Boat log before the use, and on return.
Many of the Club boats have been damaged on outings and simply put away without telling anyone. The next morning crews have put boats on the water to find a broken seat, slide, rigger etc…
This logs covers ALL boats in the shed, both Club and private owned boats including speed boats whether in the shed, on the mobile racks or stored outside.
The Boat Log will cover:
Taking the Boat Out
- Boat Name and type, eg, James Taylor 2x
- Name of the Stroke (if all Club members), full crew if not (including receipt number of $20 rowing fee for non members- receipt book in the First Aid Kit)
- Any damage or concerns before taking boat out
- Time boat taken out.
Bringing the Boat Back
- Time boat put away after washing.
- Note any damage/repairs needed. Report below if any accident/incident occurred with as much information as possible for insurance etc.
A new page will be used each day. The Log will be stored on a bench inside the Middle Bay and well sign posted.
To ensure correct boat usage a boat list setting out who can use each Club boat is available in the Boat log, on the notice boards upstairs and downstairs. Many of the Club boats are reserved for elite usage and each rack will be maker accordingly. If in doubt ask the Captain (Sarah Hill), Vice Captain (Tony Blay) or Head Coach (Nick Garratt). Usage of the boats will be reviewed each week.
AFTER A TRIAL PERIOD OF A MONTH FAILURE TO USE THE REGISTER WILL RESULT IN TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CLUB PRIVILEGES.
