The Club runs Learn To Row programmes several times during the year. Novice rowers are introduced to rowing in either eights or quadruple sculls over the period of a month. There are two sessions weekly for four weeks culminating in a small regatta between participating crews. The cost of the programme is $400 (including GST).
The programme starts on land with instruction on how to carry, adjust the boat to the rower and to get on and off the water. This is followed by training sessions on the water where participants are introduced to basic principles of rowing. The regatta gives participants the chance to show what they have learned, and test their skills and fitness against crews of similar abilities.
Learn To Row is a fun programme set against the spectacular backdrop of Pearl Bay and Middle Harbour. It is suitable for those looking to develop their skills and increase their levels of fitness simultaneously. Please note that Learn To Row is not a membership class. Information about membership can be found here.
