I know we need the rain, but this morning’s downpour is not without a downside, as I now have in my possession my 13th ruined NK Stopwatch. Despite the fact that the advertising says that ‘they are waterproof and they float’, only the latter part of that claim is true.
And so to the sad news that as my NK Stopwatch filled up with water today, the rain dissolved all of the numbers inside, and so all I can do is give people their finishing order, which is about as useful as the NK Stopwatch was this morning.
Apologies all round- onto watch # 14.

I suggest you go back to the old fashioned Seiko they are much more reliable. Had I known your stop watch was stuffed I’d have done the TT this am as well.

Nick, Sincere sympathies on your stop watch but I must say that I think its been stuffed for several months. I have felt for some time that I have been going a lot faster than what you have been recording. However it must be great comfort to you knowing that in times like this you can rely on the honesty and integrity of the members to advise you of the results. Congrats to Sherro on his PB this morning. Oh by the way, could you please place it on the record that Sherro and I had a very tight tussle this morning with me sprinting away from him at the finish line.I am guessing that would put my time somewhere around the 19.40 mark but lets say 19.45 to keep it safe!

Mattteee not sure what the problem is. The NK stopwatch you gave me three years ago, is still going strong and is yet to give in under the relentless English rain. May be a different story tomorrow as we head to Kingston for a 3 mile head race with forecast of snow. Hope everyone is well back at ‘the other home of rowing’.

If you had had an OarRater rowing stopwatch it would have done better and cost you less than US$30 (maybe less from “sales” outfits.

Hi Nick
My NK did the same thing this morning, I think the rain gets in though the seal around the view screen, well thats where it came out.
