Mosman tt protest
There has been a protest by Sherro, which has been upheld by the stewards. Some dodgy mental arithmetic by the apprentice timekeeper saw Tim penalised by 30 seconds, which led him to the brink of despair. However his time has now been corrected to 24.29. Tim also distinctly recalls agreement by all who were present in Boston that they would attend this weeks time trial, and with him being the only Boston rep present, is convinced that everyone is in hiding ...

MRC AGM 2008
Hi All, Please mark in you diaries 11.00am, November16th--because that is the date that our AGM is to be held! After the formalities, we will be holding a BBQ for everyone. And yes, closer to the date I will be asking for numbers for catering purposes. But for now, please just note the date, time and place (Pearl Bay) so that as many as possible can attend. Thanks! Annie

Mosman@Armada Cup Switzerland
While our men and women rowers plus ubercoxswain Beth Smith were wending their way back from the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston, another Mosmanian in Bill Chambers was doing battle on the other side of the Atlantic. Bill who is living in Switzerland, was the sole Australian and Mosman representative in the 9km Armada Cup raced in Berne. In a fantastic spectacle, 200 scullers compete in a massed start, and as you can imagine, prangs and the odd multilingual obscenity ...

NSWRA Spring Regatta 2008
Yesterday the Regatta season for 2008 began in earnest. We have already had great performances from our aspiring representative rowers at NSWIS Timetrials. And there was even a sighting of the "F" troop on the Nepean River last weekend. But yesterday all sections of the club were represented at SIRC. We had our newest Juniors--both a boys quad and a girls quad--some of them only rowing for a few weeks but now on the water and racing on the Olympic course and having ...

Mosman @ Boston 2
Well the men's race has been rowed and run and what a race it was! Everyone should be very proud of the performance of our VIII. The locals all say that winning here is a 2 year project- the first year you should plan to achieve a placing higher than that at which you started as an unranked newcomer, and the second year to launch your yourself for the finish and the win. Some facts about our crew ...

Mosman @ Boston
The mens VIII has settled in at the magnificent Boston Uni boatshed, about 1500m from our accommodation. So it's a pleasant stroll along the river to and from training. The college crews train early and then we have access to the boatshed from 9 a.m. No one is complaining about the later start- especially me. Noticed photos of our Jaxon Rudduck prominent on the wall in the shed. The club has been very hospitable to us. ...

Tony Blay first to contribute to Fund-Raising Campaign
Congratulations and many thanks to coach Tony for being so prompt with his kind donation. He handed his cheque plus multi-year pledge to fund-raising chairman Will Liley at 5.30 a.m. on Thursday last. Tony is an inspiration to everyone to follow suit.

Daylight saving this coming weekend
Next Monday 6th October will be our first weekday row under new daylight saving time. Please organise batteries, lights and tape to attach lights to your boats before then. Lights must be white, on both bow and stern, and visible 360 degrees. Red bike lights are not acceptable. As it is currently school holidays, there are a lot more recreational boats on the water at the moment, and in the interests of safety, no boats, club or private, will be permitted to go afloat ...

Tom Laurich joins Mosman’s coaching team
Mosman is proud to announce that one of Australia's best performed athletes has started coaching at the club. Big Tom ( 2 metres, and 100kg) was a member of the men's VIII in 2006, 2007 and 2008 in the Beijing Olympics, and in the Coxless four which finished 4th in the Athens Olympics. In 2002 Tom was a member of the coxed pair that won the Australian men's team their only medal at the World Championships in Seville. The crew ...
