Updates, news, Master Nationals, Mosman Time Trial…

May has been a hectic month with the creation of the Learn To Row and Winter Development Programs.

The Learn To Row has been hugely oversubscribed, and it is likely we will run an extra course in August. Out of this the club hopes to form both some novice crews and some more experienced crews for the Summer.

The Winter Development Programs have also been inundated with keen Juniors. So much so, that the boys program was expanded from the originally desired 12 man squad to allow all the keen 46 boys the opportunity to row at Mosman! I am sure they all appreciate the extra administrative work being done to allow for this. The level of activity at Mosman rowing should make the club very exciting over the winter months.

Nick Garratt and the Mosman Olympic Quad (can I say that and not get in trouble with Kerry, Amber and AOC?) have been racing well in Europe as they prepare for Beijing, getting a credible 5th in their first International regatta. Good Luck for the racing this weekend in Lucerne.

Kieran Kobelke is still chasing selection to race at the U23 World Champs, this is great news after narrowly missing out on making the first squad named; where he trialled well and missed out on the U23 quad by one place.

This weekend is the Australian Masters National Championships down at Nagambie. Good Luck to all those teams!

And starting on the 11th June will be the regular Mosman Time Trial regatta. The 5km time trial will happen every Wednesday at 6:30am over the winter, and is open to all ages, all abilities and all clubs and schools. The course will begin at Killarney.
