The Les Taylor Challenge for 2008 is underway, with 18 Eights training from the
Mosman Clubhouse. Tony has done an excellent job of getting everything
organised, and there has been fabulous support from the clubs masters and
junior rowers.
CommSec VIII (Light Green) look like the early favourites; but they will be
under some real pressure to defend their title, as the Sydney CBD team (Brown), Colonial First Eight (Red) and Enterprise IT (Dark Khaki) teams have started to lift their intensity. But all eyes will be on Sophie Lathouras’ team from Private Bank (Navy), who are shaping up as the ominous dark horses of the field.
Many of the novice rowers have made some great improvements out on the water, with particular interest being shown in some of the techniques Torquil Murray has been showing his team from Risk Management (Sky Blue). Who knew their boat had an ejector button?
There are plenty of smiling faces down at the club, and Regatta Day on the 5th May will be full of excitement.
