Corporate Rowing
We are now half way through the Commonwealth Bank Corporate Rowing program -- and everything has been going swimmingly (thanks Torq) Everyone has been pitching in and helping. Senior rowers, Masters, Juniors (and their parents), Recreational rowers-all have been willing volunteers. We even have a new "BBQ King" (Thank you Mark Connaghan) Mark where would you be, though, without Linda putting the food on your table eh?? Olympic Selection 2008
Hot off the press -- more fantastic news! Amy Ives and Zoe Uphill are in the 4X for Beijing. It has been a long and exhausting selection process, but Amy and Zoe have put in fantastic performances-- and now they are to become Olympians!! They will be joined in the crew by Amber Bradley and Kerry Hore, and will be coached by our Nick Garratt out of the Pearl Bay Shed. Juniors finish the season at the Edward Trickett Regatta
The Edward Trickett Championship Regatta on April 5th marked the end of the competitive season for the Mosman juniors. All members of the squad competed fabulously with results shown below: Naomi Schuf rowed very strongly to take 1st place in the WD 1x Championship. Recreational Rowing Update
Recreational rowing has continued to grow throughout the summer season, and although we have lost a few of our rowers through relocation and injuries (not sustained at rowing in any instance!) we do welcome some new rowers and new crews to Mosman Rowing Club. Selection Trial ‘08 Update
This afternoon Dan Noonan and Peter Hardcastle were selected into the Australian Olympic team for the Beijing Olympics. Dan was chosen to stroke the quad after a fantastic season coming back from injury last year. Dan won the national senior sculling title and the Interstate single, and Peter will race the single scull - achieving his dream after qualifying the boat for the Olympics last August in the Munich World Championships after a late call-up to replace Dan Noonan. Drummoyne Masters Regatta 12 April 08

Mosman rower successful in Atlantic Ocean crossing
Congratulations to Peter Collett for winning the Atlantic Solo Challenge a few weeks back. Forget about Weightwatchers, a few thousand km's seems to have done wonders for the waistline. Commonwealth Bank - Les Taylor Challenge Cup 2008
The Les Taylor Challenge for 2008 is underway, with 18 Eights training from the Mosman Clubhouse. Tony has done an excellent job of getting everything organised, and there has been fabulous support from the clubs masters and junior rowers. CommSec VIII (Light Green) look like the early favourites; but they will be under some real pressure to defend their title, as the Sydney CBD team (Brown), Colonial First Eight (Red) and Enterprise IT (Dark Khaki) teams have started to lift their intensity. Olivia Heath has just been named in the Australian Junior Coxed Four as the stroke. Kieran Kobelke is also rowing red hot in his quest for U23 selection, and Dan Noonan and Peter Hardcastle have both had some great performances in the stroke seat of the Olympic Mens Quad. Amy Ives and Zoe Uphill are also strongly contending for a spot on the Olympic Womens Quad. Go Mosman! Teams will be announced by the 2oth of April.
